Mandashi Fund provides grant to setup Special Olympics Tennis Group in Sheffield

The Mandashi Fund is pleased to announce the award of a grant to Ben Howarth to enable the development of a Special Olympics tennis club. Ben Howard is an award winning Community, Disability and Inclusive Tennis coach at Brentwood Tennis Club in Sheffield, which was recently voted as LTA Yorkshire Club of the Year due to its focus on inclusion and diversity. The funds will be used to set up, organise and run the club for a minimum of 2 years.

Sheila Gupta, Director of Mandashi, said "we're really pleased to be able to support Ben in developing a new Special Olympics tennis club in Sheffield. Ben has a great vision for improving disability access in Sheffield, and has already made a positive impact in his coaching work. Special Olympics is a fantastic way for people with intellectual disabilities of all ages to access physical activity, with all the health benefits it provides. Also, it brings many emotional and psychological benefits, including building self-confidence and higher self-esteem".
