Just watched this Japanese series: Riding a Unicorn on Netflix. Yes, it's rose-tinted and sentimental in places. But, but, it's also very inspiring and fun to watch on a cold, dark British evening. It follows a young founder who runs an Ed-tech startup in Tokyo.
It covers some very common hurdles: lack of sales, pivoting, raising investment, growing a team, losing staff, dealing with competitors, overcoming the generational gap and deciding whether to sell. But most importantly it shows that fundamentally it's all about having a dream, being positive and creative, having respect for others, nurturing your team and never, ever giving up.
Sometimes we can all benefit from a bit of feel-good positivity in these challenging times.
